As part of a precedent study, I analyzed the FRAC Grand Large Dunkerque museum in Dunkerque, France, designed by Lacaton & Vassal. This involved creating both a physical and digital model, breaking the mass down to its parts and practicing model representation through photography and rendering.
The digital model is an exploded axonometric of the FRAC addition, breaking the building down to expose its vertical circulation (green) and enclosure system, with the framing (blue) supporting the insulating and semi-permeable envelope.
The physical model intends to show the volumes of exhibition spaces within the port warehouse's twin addition (in yellow) as well as the floor slabs and transparency of the membrane enclosure.
